Mystery Shopper Scams
Haven’t heard of it, well it has you, the promising victim, receiving and email that you have been selected for a promising job as a mystery shopper for some big names in the retail industry. They have you go around exclusive and posh stores buying items with your job being to rate the work ethics and demeanor of the store staff, so on and so forth. You get in touch with people through a website, who give you the instructions on which store to go to and buy from, receiving reimbursements for all your expenses. You get the items you bought plus the fee for each and every shop you buy from and rate. Still not suspicious, well look at this from another angle, who would be crazy enough to pay somebody they don’t even know buying stuff from their stores, keep the stuff and pay you for it?
This scam is growing and all you end up with is a lot of debt and headaches on how you are going to pay for the stuff you all bought, you even get your personal information stolen in the process as you release them to your employers(con artists) who in turn use it for more mischief that you have to pay for. Just remember that anything that sounds too good to be true is probably a scam so be wary of such offers.
